I wonder if someone could elaborate on this:

Mining issue
A brief discussion about mining prompted us to determine whether we should become involved in this issue related to environmental issues around mining.  How, when and where does mining intersect with our mission?  Responsible mining and holding mining companies accountable is what we may wish to focus on.  If acidic water enters the watershed, tremendous ecological damage can ensue. This is a statewide issue.  Our lobbyist will be aware of and responsive to this issue.  An independent person is needed to research this issue and return to the BOD with a recommendation.  Also, a random selection of restored mined lands should be visited.  Ann and the ED will look into this issue along with Florida Wildlife Foundation.   Whos is this Florida Wildlife Foundation??

I found very little info on the web. Thanks, Joan B
