I plan to demo a major upgrade to the FNPS website at the meeting.
Susan Carr is looking for leader(s) for a conference field trip to Brenan Field. I don't know the place. But would anyone be interested in a visit on Sunday? It is about 15 miles from Mandarin (west). I'm game if there is public access. Let's consider it as a potential on-the-way-home Sunday exploration. If you want to discuss, contact me at ecotypes@outlook.com. It is not to far from I-10 west of Jacksonville.
This FNPS meeting is the one that for the last many years has been a retreat. Clearly, there is no retreat potential here. Is anything being planned that would help people in attendance socialize on Saturday night or enjoy a field trip on Sunday other than to Brenan field? Jacksonville is far from most of our homes. If you have ideas for a Saturday night shared dinner, I suggest contacting our ED ( executivedirector@fnps.org).
If you have time to stay in N. FL. for a couple of days, there are Mcores meetings planned on Feb. 11&12 in Madison and Fanning Springs. You too can have a voice. Suncoast has multiple people planning to be at Suwannee River State Park on Feb. 11 and 12 as a base for speaking at these meetings. We also plan to spend time in the woods. We have one camping place for a tent and maybe a space in a cabin (female) for anyone wanting to be at those meetings. A visit to the trout lily preserve a Wolf Creek is planned. Contact me at ecotypes@outlook.com if you are interested in joining us.
