The 2016 ByLaws Revision is posted below as well as a copy of the current ByLaws (revised May 2015).
The ByLaws Subcommittee has been revising the Bylaws and the report is below. Thanks for all the work the subcommittee has done to come up with clear, concise language and reorganization.
Bylaws Subcommittee Report – April 8, 2016
The Bylaws Subcommittee has made its recommendations for revisions to the Society’s Bylaws. The changes represent a reorganization of the paragraphs to simplify the bylaws and eliminate redundancy. In some cases, paragraphs that were from different Articles have been combined into a new Article. In other cases, duplicate language present in more than one Article has been consolidated into one location.
Please also note that during the April 2016 Board of Directors meeting, the Board voted to recommend the following changes in the bylaws (included in the attached April 25, 2016 draft):
1) a motion to extend the Secretary’s position to three consecutive two-year terms, and
2) that voting proxies be allowed by the Board of Directors with the stipulation that they be selected by the committee chairpersons or directors and that the proxies be limited to no more than three per year.
